Saylor posted “Back to work” on X on May 10, signaling another purchase was underway. The formal disclosure followed the next day, confirming the buy and updating the company’s year-to-date BTC yield to 9.4%.

The latest acquisition brings Strategy’s total bitcoin cost basis to approximately $61.86 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,540 per coin.

The 535-coin buy is smaller than many of Strategy’s recent purchases, but the cadence remains consistent. Saylor has made acquisitions of varying sizes throughout the accumulation campaign, using available capital at each interval.

At current market prices, the firm’s bitcoin reserve carries a cost basis that sits below the $80,340 price paid in this latest transaction, reflecting the weighted average effect of purchases made at lower prices over several years.

Strategy holds bitcoin through various equity vehicles, including the ticker symbols MSTR and STRC, giving shareholders direct exposure to BTC price movements through traditional brokerage accounts.

The company’s BTC Yield metric, which tracks bitcoin growth per diluted share, stands at 9.4% year-to-date through 2026. Strategy uses this figure alongside traditional earnings metrics to measure shareholder value accumulation.

Saylor has made no public indication of slowing the accumulation pace. Each purchase announcement follows a consistent pattern: a short social media post, followed by disclosure confirming the amount, price, and updated total.

Strategy began buying bitcoin in August 2020. Since then, the company has logged more than 100 separate acquisition events, building one of the largest known corporate bitcoin treasuries in the world.

No other publicly traded company holds a comparable quantity of bitcoin on its balance sheet. Strategy’s 818,869 BTC represents a meaningful share of the 21 million coins that will ever exist.

The firm finances its purchases through equity offerings and convertible note issuances, using capital markets to fund ongoing BTC accumulation rather than operating cash flow alone.

Institutional investors and corporate treasury watchers continue to track whether other public companies will adopt a similar model, as Strategy’s position grows with each successive buy.
