Community protocol Kūsho World announced the upcoming relaunch of its flagship NFT collection to V2, this time migrating to the Sovrun platform.
PFP NFT Relaunch
In a recent X post, Kūsho World teased the relaunch of its NFT collection as it enters a new ecosystem. The post reaffirmed its commitment to its community with the message, “A promise not forgotten.”
In a response to BitPinas inquiry, Kūsho World Co-Lead Joe Josue stated that while the official mint date for Reborn V2 has yet to be announced, the launch will align with the public release of the Sovrun chain, which is currently still in testing.
The team noted that art upgrades, driven by community feedback, are a key improvement in the new collection, aimed at supporting the growth of the Kūsho IP. Beyond visual enhancements, the V2 NFTs will serve as a core component of the project’s evolving ecosystem on Sovrun and other blockchains, functioning as a gateway to access and benefits within the protocol.
Moreover, according to the replies of Kūsho on the thread, all V1 holders will be able to migrate to V2 for free, covering only the gas fees. While some traits will not carry over, by design, due to the upgraded look, mechanisms, and full details will be revealed closer to mint as the Sovrun chain gets ready. The team also hinted at future options to reroll or access new exclusive traits.
Josue reiterated that the decision to migrate to Sovrun stems from a strong alignment in long-term vision.

Sovrun is a blockchain gaming platform that powers fully on-chain, AI-enhanced autonomous worlds, giving players ownership of gameplay, assets, and economy through its modular infrastructure and $SOVRN token.
Looking Forward
In the next three months, Kūsho World shared that it will continue with its regular pace of product development, rolling out experimental features to further leverage and expand its IP.
The team is also focused on growing its audience, highlighting the success of its TikTok sub-IP Familiars, which now garners over 1.5 million monthly views without paid promotions.
On the sustainability front, Kūsho will soon announce teams it has backed through its treasury as part of its long-term strategy.

March 2022
Filipino anime-inspired NFT project Kūsho World began minting its first collection on March 18, 2022, with the aim of promoting local artistry and introducing more Filipinos to NFTs.
Founded by Yuann Acosta, Sachie Santiago, and Dexter Magaro, the project positioned itself as both a platform and a community hub for artists and metaverse enthusiasts. Kūsho offered podcasts, webinars, and discussions to educate users while providing NFT holders access to exclusive perks, including the Minka app and partner benefits.
March 2023
Joe Josue, CEO and Co-Founder of web3 agency Metasports, acquired the embattled Filipino NFT project Kūsho World in a personal capacity. The acquisition included control over the project’s social media, community platforms, and NFT deployer wallet, though not the treasury wallet.
Josue has since shelved the project’s original token initiative, Project MINKA, to avoid legal complications, while offering support for holders to resolve past merchandise commitments.
October 2023
Kūsho World officially became a part of MetaSports, a gaming and esports media agency led by CEO Joe Josue. Months after acquiring the project personally, Josue confirmed that Kūsho is now an IP supported by MetaSports.
February 2024
Kūsho World partnered with the University of the Philippines – Los Baños (UPLB) Computer Science Society for “UNCHAINED: The Internet, Reimagined with Web 3.0,” held from February 26–28, 2024. The event featured blockchain talks from industry experts, including speakers from Sky Mavis and Kūsho’s Malaya Labs, and introduced students to NFTs through a “Merchandise-to-Mint” activation using QR-coded shirts.
The event isKūsho World’s second university collaboration, following its partnership with the University of Perpetual Help.
May 2024
The project partnered with YEY, a fandom engagement platform developed by BlockchainSpace, to enhance its web3 community efforts. The collaboration aims to strengthen user interaction through tools like POAPs, gachas, raffles, and a custom dashboard for community insights.
The partnership is anchored on three strategies: community integration, co-branding, and technical development.
September 2024
Kūsho Shop was launched, it is a web3-enabled storefront that allows customers to purchase its Kūsho Classics apparel line using both crypto (Solana, Polygon) and fiat. The launch follows the project’s rebrand as a community-driven protocol, aiming to integrate blockchain use in everyday commerce.
NFT holders receive exclusive discounts by connecting their wallets, and QR codes on merchandise unlock YEY.tech collectibles linked to future Kūsho ecosystem features.
Additionally, web3 content creator Kookoo CryptoTV has joined as an official advisor, backing Kūsho’s vision of establishing a uniquely Filipino presence in the global NFT and digital content space.
March 2025
Kūsho World partnered with Sovrun to expand its web3 gaming ecosystem by integrating with Sovrun’s next-gen Layer 2 blockchain, which focuses on autonomous worlds and AI-driven gameplay. The collaboration will bring Kūsho Guardians, the YGG Play Summit 2024 Game Jam winner, into Sovrun’s modular infrastructure to build a player-shaped, on-chain game economy.
As part of the partnership, Kūsho’s Genesis NFT collection will migrate to Sovrun, and its upcoming arcade hub Arkada will be integrated into Sovrun’s network.
The two entities also plan to launch educational initiatives, hackathons, and community events to support creators and promote web3 gaming. Kūsho has added $SOVRN to its treasury.
