Malaysia Blockchain Week (MYBW) 2025 has concluded its event in its second year.
It gathered over 6,800 participants from 92 countries as it highlighted Malaysia’s aim of becoming a regional blockchain hub through government initiatives, global industry insights, and networking opportunities.
Public and Private Sector Collab
According to the organizers, one of the key highlights of MYBW 2025 is the close collaboration between the public and private sectors, as key government ministries outlined plans to strengthen the country’s position in the regional blockchain industry.
The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) launched the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI) during the event. According to the media release, the launch of MBI reflects the country’s commitment to an open and forward-thinking digital economy.
Minister Chang Lih Kang said the initiative supports the MADANI vision by applying blockchain across sectors.
“This is the essence of Malaysia’s MADANI vision: where innovation meets compassion, progress is guided by trust, and technology serves all levels of society. Blockchain is increasingly relevant across sectors like finance, supply chains, halal traceability, and public services.”

Moreover, Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo participated in a closed-door Blockchain Industry Roundtable with industry leaders to discuss opportunities and challenges in fostering a competitive local blockchain ecosystem.

The media release stressed that the discussions mark a milestone in shaping Malaysia’s blockchain strategy, with policies and action plans expected to be implemented over the next five years to position the country at the forefront of the global blockchain sector.
MYBW 2025
Organized by Lydian Labs and held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur from July 21 to 22, 2025, the event featured 170 speakers, 68 sponsors, and more than 90 side events.
There were also main event keynotes, panels, exhibitions, launches, networking opportunities, private dinners, and pickleball matches.

Malaysia Blockchain Week 2025 gathered global leaders, innovators, and local builders to discuss decentralized infrastructure, crypto adoption, AI-blockchain integration, and regulatory trends. The event featured top executives, founders, policymakers, and developers from companies including Coinbase, Wintermute, Nansen.ai, Bitget, and IOTA.
Speakers include IOTA Co-Founder Dominik Schiener, Nansen.ai CEO Alex Svanevik, Coinbase APAC Policy Director Katie Mitchell, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen, and Wintermute Co-Founder Yoann Turpin, and many more across APAC, global, and Malaysian ecosystems.
